Discussion 3.1: Your experience with facilitation
Before we kick the actual studying off, let`s take some time for self-reflection; our own experience in virtual learning facilitation. Take your time to think about answers to the following questions:
Have you ever facilitated any course, or workshop? If so, was in F2F or virtual environment?
What was your contribution as a facilitator to the learning process and why did you find it useful?
If you have never facilitated a course, elaborate on what you would expect from a good facilitator in virtual environment. What is her/his contribution to the learning process? What are the advantages of the facilitation in general?
Optional but recommended: please write a post in the discussion forum answering these questions preferably by using your real life examples. If you have no experience in facilitating a virtual or F2F workshop, use those that you gained as a student/participant of a facilitated course.
Important note: read through your peer`s posts and react if you like, it is more than appreciated. Try to get to know your peers; the feeling of a fellowship might help you overcome tougher part of the module later on. Remember, we are in this together!
