  • 3.4 Practice using virtual facilitation tools & techniques

    • Welcome to section 3.4 of Module 3. This is the final part of your journey and you will be able to apply and test your newly gained knowledge.

    • In this Microteaching part (Microteaching 3.4.1 and Microteaching 3.4.2 - both mandatory) you will have a chance to test your ability to apply the newly gained knowledge while searching the solutions to the situations that you might face in the real life. Two different scenarios/situations with quizzes will be presented to you. Your task is to read the scenarios carefully, analyze them using the supporting questions, and answer the quiz questions correctly.

      Supporting questions:

      • Define the problem from the facilitator’s point of view.
      • What do you think: what are the most important characteristics of this group to take into consideration when choosing the right facilitation technique or tool? Why?
      • Choose the best technique or method to solve the problem (go to FAVILLE App/ the digital application of the project FAVILLE at https://favilleapp.ht-apps.eu/ )
      • Explain why you would decide for this particular method.
      • Shortly describe how you would apply it and which results you expect to reach using this method or technique.
      • Would you take some more steps after the method is applied and the problem solved?

      You are awesome! You did a huge step on your way to become a good virtual learning facilitator. The previous case studies were designed to test your ability to find the right technique in the specific situations, which you might face in a real life as a facilitator. For the last discussion, read the following questions:

      • How did you do in the case studies quiz? Did you find it easy or difficult? 

      • There are also many other possible techniques you could use in the mentioned situations, did any other technique came to your mind? Which one and why? 

      • Do you feel more prepared for the virtual facilitation now that you have finished our course? 

      Optional but recommended: please write a post in the discussion forum reflecting on the questions above.

      Important note: we are all individuals with different perspectives, feelings and needs. Keep that in mind when contributing and reacting in this very last discussion. Some might have enjoyed this course very much, some a bit less and it is OK. Express your opinion by giving us constructive, honest feedback and do not forget to mention something good, too ☺. Giving the feedback right – giving one that motivates and encourages improvements – is a tough skill to master. As facilitators, we should be able to teach our learners how to conclude one.
