FAVILLE-O1-EN-Facilitators of virtual learning

A professional facilitator does not simply walk into the workshop room or joins the online conference. It takes time to prepare for the facilitation, as there are many factors to consider. Think about the following: 

• If you have already facilitated a virtual class, how did you prepare? 

• What was your interaction with the subject-matter expert before the class, if any?

• Have you also considered the options provided by the chosen ICT tools? 

• Have you considered the group diversity (culture, age, education…) when choosing the appropriate methods and techniques? 

• In case you have never facilitated, describe the preparatory steps you think would be good to undergo before the virtual class starts. How long do you think such preparation take?

Optional but recommended: please write a post in the discussion forum answering the questions above using your experience or opinion. Do not worry if you have no specific experience, use your imagination and think about what you would do. 

Important note: If you doubt the purpose of the discussions in our course, keep in mind that the more you experience the better you become. Nevertheless, imagine that instead of learning from your mistake, you could learn from the mistakes of others. This way we would avoid repeating unnecessary errors. Be honest, open and do not avoid mentioning what you have done wrong. When you are providing feedback, help us to maintain an environment of trust by doing so in polite, meaningful and purposeful way.
