    The “Information and Data Literacy” skill for retail professionals includes basic truths of internet behaviour, including the ability to effectively search the internet, judging the information found critically, and taking steps to defend yourself against becoming the victim of malicious attacks. It also involves creating and gathering feedback from customers.


    Course goals

    The overall goals of the units within this competence are  the following:

    • Students are able to perform keyword searches effectively and understand how to judge and recognize whether a website is credible. Students are able to locate reliable sources of information and are able to distinguish false information from the real.
    • The students have a basic understanding of the steps that can be taken in order to secure their online behaviour. Their capabilities include the ability to recognize phishing emails, to avoid malicious links, and to handle suspicious attachments.
    • Students are able to create an online feedback form, analyse the data and create a summary of the results.
    • Students are able to recognize the essential elements of product labels and to identify different eco-friendly labelling.

    • Employees in retail trade, VET teachers/trainers and VET students.
